Join us in for a celebration of Vishwesh Bhatt's first cookbook: a vibrant portrait of an evolving American South. Meherwan Irani and the culinary team of Chai Pani Decatur are teaming up with Chef Bhatt (of Snackbar in Oxford, Mississippi) to serve a selection of dishes from I Am From Here: Stories and Recipes from a Southern Chef. Hear the stories behind the recipes as you enjoy a multi-course dinner and paired cocktails (full beverage menu also available).
Irani and Bhatt have a deep friendship – this dinner is the latest of many culinary collaborations! In January 2018, they started the Brown in the South dinner series to spotlight their fellow chefs of Indian descent in the American South. Between them, they've accumulated 13 James Beard Award Nominations and earned two of the foundation's top awards: Bhatt was named Best Chef: South in 2019, and Chai Pani Asheville was awarded Outstanding Restaurant in 2022.
Tickets will be available individually, or sold in bundles as complete tables (groups of 2-6).
